Dark circles are a fact of life for many women. They can show up for a number of reasons. This can include: allergies, lack of sleep, and heredity. We can try to cover them up. Yet, they can still be showing up, if we are making a few simple mistakes such as:
- We are using a liquid concealer. The fact is that a creamy solid concealer works best to hide these annoying circles, that do make us look older. Always remember that this concealer should match our skin shade as close to possible.
- We are using too much concealer. Yes, there in this case, there can be too much of a good thing. When applying never go past your lower lash line and use thin coats.
- You are forgetting to cover one spot. That spot is the inner corner of your eye. Do this by blending a small amount of the concealer down the side of your nose as evenly as you can.
- You are wearing the wrong color of eye shadow. Consider wearing a shimmering nude eye shadow. This will brighten up the color of your eyes. Choose a color a bit darker than your skin tone. Never go for a shade lighter than your skin tone or it will appear frosty and make your dark circles stand out even more.
If you haven’t made any mistakes, you may just have really bad dark eye circles. For these, try using a peach colored correcting cream before applying the concealer. These creams are also sometimes known as primers. Apply this cream with a damp sponge. Then apply your concealer.
Of course, you should do what you can to prevent those dark circles. You know the drill. Try to avoid allergens, don’t over-drink, and try to get enough sleep.
Good luck and remember real beauty is what’s inside.
